The Deaf community was built by deaf and hearing people together. This page commemorates hearing persons who have had a significant, and positive, impact on the Deaf community throughout history. Hearing people have shown support for Deaf people in many ways—financially, through business partnerships, setting up new programs, helping to get legislation passed, and through scholarship and publication—to name just a few. Some have been CODAs—hearing children of deaf parents—and some have been neighbors and concerned citizens. Through this site, we express our appreciation for their work and influence.
